Christmas morning

This christmas was a blast for us because our kids were old enough to really understand what Christmas is about. Ry was so excited that when we woke her up she jumped up and said, Mom I dreamed that Santa gave me Bendaroos! They both loved opening up their presents, Brent a little more than Ry because he opened all of mine before I even knew it.

The little guy loves basketballs, especially if they are on his shirts. So as soon as he opened this present he started taking off his pjs so he could wear it!

His favorite present ....a shot gun and he took it everywhere.

Ry got a barbie house from Grandma Jensen...and if you didn't notice Brent still has his gun.

you can't tell but she was really excited!
Brent got a tool set. and just like Ry, he looks way excited.
using the saw...

He didn't want anymore pictures taken so this is the face he gave me. He is saying, "Mom I just want to play with my toys!"

Brent got a PS3, after I finally broke down and got him one. I wanted the blu-ray player, and yes you can definitely tell a difference.
I finally surprised him for once-it only took me 10 years to do it.

(and because I know my mother will be trying to do the math in her head, we have been together for 10 years this march, married for 8 in may)

Workout challenge!

Alright everyone we are doing a fun workout challenge. I seem to keep to a workout schedule better if I have a good goal in mind. So this year we are doing the P90x challenge. Now you don't have to run out and buy the dvds, just tag along and work on the same body part as the schedule we are doing. The main goal is to get everyone at least working out and trying to achieve your goals.

For those of you who have the dvds we will be following the Classic schedule, you can do Lean or if your really in shape the Doubles (some day I will be a that level). The classic has you really working hard for 3 weeks and then you have one week of recovery with just cardio, yoga, and core. Then it changes the next 3 weeks to keep your muscles challenged. I will post what bodypart we will be working out the day before and I can also email the schedule to anyone-I think you can find it online as well.

The winner will be named by the person who lost the most % of body weight, and whose body did a real transformation. Everyone who participates will get to vote for the winner, and winner gets to rub it in all of our faces that they won- who knows maybe we will all go in on a prize or something. I am open to suggestions.

If your game leave a comment down below, or on my facebook page. And hopefully if enough of us are doing this we can make it through the entire 90 days!

Right before we start make sure to take your weight, and I am doing my measurements too. Also take your beginning picture, you don't have to post it-its just good to know where you started from.

If your thinking of the buying the dvds you will also need free weights, pull up bar-or elastic bands (personally I recommend the pull up bar), and a yoga mat.

Good luck everyone.

WE ARE FINISHED!

We are officially finished with the living room remodel! YEAH!! It feels so good to have our house back. And now some awesome pics of how much better our front room looks-compared to the funky poo colored carpet we had before.

Here is the only pic I have of the fireplace before the remodel-Brent ripped it out before I could get one of just the fireplace.

This is the carpet we had before. It was so ugly and matted. The only good thing about it was that it didn't stain easily, honestly what's darker than poo brown. When we remodeled the front room(the 1st time) my hubby only wanted tile on one side. He wanted to keep carpet on the TV side for when we watched movies. I was so excited to finally get rid of it!

This is how awkwardly our front room was. The only spot for the TV was on this wall because the couch didn't fit anywhere else.

Here is where the couch use to be. And the old wall color we had. I didn't mind the wall color we just decided to change it for fun. (little did we know that it would take 2 ENTIRE DAYS to strip all 8 layers of wall paper this room had. And yes that is a textured wall paper on the walls-not actual texture.

And now my new room......with no fireplace!

I love the color on walls, they really make my shutters stand out.

And this is where my tv is, it works so much better.

we were a little worried if the tile would look good with the wood floor, but I think it does. It divides the two rooms.

My cute artwork I got from work. I love my new room!

Our remodel

I swear that before I hit my 30's this stupid house will get finished. Here are some pics of what we have been dealing with.

This is the only have decent picture I have of the fireplace before we started remodeling. We took it out because we never used it, it really wasn't the focus in the room, and it made it hard to fit the furniture in the room.

This is the fireplace now...
and this is what plaster walls look like that have been behind 5 layers of wallpaper. Yep 5 layers! It took 2 days to steam and scrape the wallpaper off.

We ripped out all the brick (well Brent did, and I watched) and what is left is the exhaust pipe from the stove.

Brent cut the pipe out and sealed up the hole.

I absolutely hate the adobe brick in this house. I can't hang anything on the walls because when you try to get a screw in, the brick just crumbles. And I have a huge mirror I can't hang downstairs because it is too heavy- grrrr!

I now know that having a 100 year old house comes with some issues. But honestly who paints hardwood floors! and they painted them twice. I don't know if you can tell, but there is a lime green and a taupe color painted over the dark hardwood floors.

I just keep saying this will all be worth it, this will all be worth it....right?

I will post more pics of the wonderful roof/bathroom remodel that is going on as well.

I am finally updating here!

I have been so busy with the house and work that I haven't posted for awhile. I took the kids for a walk around the block and decided to take my camera with. I haven't taken pictures for awhile and I forgot how much I enjoy it. Here are my favorites... and yes we finally cut the little guy's hair(or I had Diane cut it while his dad sat on the stairs mad at me. He prefers his hair longer than I do)

Ry is in Kindergarten!

I can't believe that she is old enough to go to Kindergarten. Her first day she was a little nervous, but I think I was a little more nervous for her. But what I didn't expect was what her little brother thought about it.

He kept saying, "Ry at work". And I would have to tell him that she was at school. He really missed her that day.

And to make him feel like a big kid, he had to bring a bag to school as well.

He had to bring the bag that goes to his dad's drill.

Strawberry canyon

I am way behind on posting, but I can't help how extremely busy we have been. But here are some pics from Strawberry Reservoir.

The kids walking the dogs (what you can't see in the pic is that the dogs are actually stuff animals. They just wanted to be big helpers)

A flower that grows all over there.

I got an owee Mom!

The Little guy came up to me and said, "I got an owee Mommy!" The poor guy got whipped in the face with a branch while playing in the ditch. So of course I had to take pictures.

After awhile he said "no more, mommy". I think my kids are done with being my subjects while I practice... anyone want to loan me their kids so I can practice (no charge, I promise).
