Our summer project

Brent has been working on Rylee's playhouse for a couple of months. He has been working on it a little bit here and there. Just whenever he has a free minute...which is not that often especially with playing on 2 softball leagues and his usual game night on thursdays.

This is the playhouse with only 3 walls framed and the front deck without the stairs.

This is the playhouse with all walls sheeted except for the back one. The reason why Brent made the roof slant was for water drainage. He complained that I changed his design because I wanted him to put a slide on the side with a rock wall.

This is the top deck, and the slide will be on the left side of the house with the rock wall.

Here is Brent hard at work. And yes he does actually work.

We have windows!!

And siding too!

This is the top deck, it is about 9 ft off of the ground. It doesn't look that high but when you get up on top, its kinda up there. And of course the kids love it. I was so proud of Ry when she climbed up there using the ladder, because she is afraid of heights just like me. And the material Brent used is awesome. It is Trek decking and so it never needs to be stained and that makes me a happy mommy!

We still have a lot of work ahead. We have to do the railing on the top deck, install the slide, rock wall, and front door. Then there is the whole inside to finish. So it is easy to say we won't be doing the BBQ anytime soon. But is has been a fun project for the summer.

4th of July!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

This picture is of Ry playing with a sparkler. I am still learning on how to use the ISO on my camera, but I think it looks cool. I couldn't get Ry to hold still enough so that she was in focus, but that is a 4 year old for you. Andy and Kelley came over to light fireworks with their kids. Ry and Maddie had a blast picking which firework Brent could light next. And like usual, Tyler hated the loud sounds and cried most of the time. He acts so much like Andy!

Here are all of the cousins, except baby Brent. Did you notice Bailey standing on the swing with her leg up in the air. She is a nut!

mary's yard

HOW FUN!

Our neighbor, Mary floods her yard every month from the irrigation. She is so sweet and loves to watch the kids play in it. This time we didn't have Ry change into her swimsuit because we had a family BBQ to go to, but we let her run in it. We should have known better, it was just like when our family goes to the beach in Oregon and we think we won't get in because it is so cold...but every time we all walk away soaked from playing the waves. Well after 5 mins Ry was soaked because she slipped and fell in, and baby Brent... he is a water rat!

So needless to say we stayed and played in Mary's yard and we were fashionably late to the BBQ.

Just so you know, the water was freezing! Its irrigation water. Also Brent was taking all the pictures because he said the water was too cold to get into...wimp. And while Ry and I were in the water Brent gave the baby a sucker to have.

He is also holding Ry's sucker for her. He not only held her sucker for her, he helped her eat it. What a good brother.


And here is Dad all clean and dry, I really did marry a guy just like my dad.
